On April 27, the Princess of Wales met with people gathered outside the Dowlais Rugby Club where she revealed that she shared the ring size with her mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

The Princess of Wales also commented that had Princess Diana been alive, she would have made a “brilliant” grandmother to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. “We miss her everyday”, remarked the Princess of Wales.
The 41-year-old received the 12-carat sapphire ring in 2010, during a trip to Kenya, when Prince William proposed to her. Originally, the ring was gifted to Lady Diana when she got engaged to King Charles III in 1981. The ring remained in her possession even after the couple divorced in 1996.
The beautiful ring is a 12-carat sapphire surrounded by fourteen solitaire diamonds previously reported to be an inheritance of Prince Harry. According to earlier reports, Prince Harry had gifted the ring to his brother the Prince of Wales, however in his tell-all memoir Spare published earlier this year, Prince Harry shared, “never gave Willy that ring because it wasn’t mine to give”.

At the time, a source close to the Royal family had informed the media that although Kate Middleton “appreciates the history associated with this role” she will work to create “her own path“.
