*KPT, HEC cause upsets against PCAA and NBP to make 2020 National Challenge Cup quarter-finals*

Higher Education Commission beat Pakistan Premier League side National Bank of Pakistan 0-1 while Karachi Port Trust stunned Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority by winning after the penalty shootout to to set up a clash in the 2020 National Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

As the Round-of-16 continued at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore on Saturday. HEC held NBP through out the normal time and forced the match into extra time, in the third minute of which Usama Suleiman (93′) headed in a winner for HEC.

In the second match, KPT were solid at the back throughout and neutralised a potent attack of PCAA which includes starlets Mohammad Waheed and Mohammad Naeem. Despite missing a penalty, KPT went a goal up in the 68th minute, thanks to Junaid’s header but PCAA came back quick to make it 1-1 through an own goal in the 73rd minute.

The scores were level in normal time and through extra time and the penalties had to decide who goes through. PCAA missed two penalties and KPT ended up being the winners.

On Sunday, Sui Southern Gas Pipelines play Pakistan Navy while Pakistan Airforce take on SA Farms.
