Kumara, Das fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct
Lahiru Kumara has been fined 25% of his match fees while Liton Das has been docked 15% for breaching level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The fines relate to a clash in the recently concluded Super 12 game between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on Sunday in Sharjah.
The incident occurred in the fifth over after Kumara scalped the wicket of Liton Das, after which Kumara walked towards Das, provoking a response from the Bangladesh batter.
Kumara was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage, or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

Das breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game’.
ICC Match Referee Javagal Srinath imposed the sanctions on both the players based on the charges levelled by on-field umpires Joel Wilson and Adrian Holdstock, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Rod Tucker.
Both players pleaded guilty and accepted the sanctions.
