13th October 2020: Cold weather, Indian troops are in serious trouble in Ladakh due to the cold weather and the officials have joined hands with China.

Baaghi TV reports that talks have resumed between China and India to reduce tensions.

According to a report by the foreign news agency APP, the talks took place in the Indian region of Chushul, however, no further details have come to light in this regard yet. Thousands of military artillery, tanks and fighter jets from both countries are in the region.

Due to the ongoing tension in Ladakh, a large number of Indian troops are present there, the Indian Army is facing difficulties due to the onset of cold weather, so the Indian Army and Indian officials want peace in the region in winter and China somehow. That is why India has reportedly joined hands with China in negotiations.

There have been several rounds of talks between Indian and Chinese military, diplomatic and political officials, including between the foreign ministers and the defence minister in Moscow last month.

In previous military-level talks following a meeting of the two countries’ foreign ministers on September 10, it was agreed that their troops should withdraw from the border dispute, maintain adequate distance and reduce tensions.

The foreign ministers have not set a timeline for the withdrawal of troops, artillery, tanks and fighter jets from the region, which has been in the region for the first time since the May tensions.

Military experts have repeatedly warned that the consequences could be catastrophic from any direction outside the cold desert region of Ladakh. Which has dramatically changed their relationship.

Tensions, which began in May, escalated in June when 20 Indian soldiers were killed in stone-throwing and hand-to-hand fighting. The two countries partially withdrew from the Galwan Valley and at least two other places after the clash, but tensions continued in at least three other areas, including Lake Pangong.

In recent weeks, Asian nations have accused each other of sending troops to each other’s territories in Pangong and firing warning shots for the first time in 45 years, signalling a full-blown military conflict.

It should be noted that relations between the two countries are often tense due to their undivided border. The two countries also fought a war in 1962 that spread to Ladakh and the war ended with an agreement, where they agreed not to use weapons against each other in the border area.

India has also increased the number of troops on the eastern border following ongoing tensions on the border with China. On the other hand, The Hindu newspaper has revealed that according to the intelligence received by the central government, an area of about one thousand square kilometres of Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control is currently under Chinese control.

On the other hand, China has warned that if India wants to compete, it will have to bear more military losses than in the past.

According to the report, China has been consolidating its presence since April by mobilizing troops along the Line of Actual Control. An official told The Hindu that Chinese troops had been moving along the indefinite Line of Actual Control from the Dipsang plain to Chushul.

He revealed that the Indian part of the Line of Actual Control from Patrol Point 10 to 13 in the Dipsang Plain area is about 900 sq km under Chinese control. Of these, 20 sq km in the Galwan Valley and 12 sq km in Hot Springs are completely under Chinese control, 65 sq km of Pangong Tso Lake and 20 sq km in Chushul are also under Chinese control.

China has deployed JF fighter jets at its airbase in Houghton near the LAC, which is constantly flying along the border in Ladakh.

An Indian military official was quoted as saying that the situation in the Chushul area was very tense. The Chinese troops are in a very aggressive mood and have deployed heavy calibre weapons there to repel the Indian troops. India has also deployed Special Frontier Forces to repel Chinese progress and has installed heavy weapons near the LAC. According to reports, the armies of the two countries are currently defending their positions in equal number.

Tensions are also rising between China and India over Ladakh. China had killed 20 soldiers, including an Indian colonel. India has remained silent on the issue of China. Replying, China invaded and occupied Indian land in Ladakh which India has not been able to liberate yet.
