According to the reports of Baaghi TV, the blast in Barkat Market area of Lahore was due to the negligence of the authorities.
Due to lack of security arrangements in the shops set up in connection with illegal filling of LPG in Barkat Market area of Lahore, the citizen had lodged applications with DC Lahore, Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA in which it was pointed out. It was said that there were no security measures at all which could lead to any tragedy. The citizen had said in his petitions to the higher authorities that there were illegal LPG filling shops near the big mosque in Barkat Market. And this work has been going on for a long time. LPG filling of these people is equal to lack of safety. God willing, a major accident may happen. These people are sitting there illegally. Many times these shops have been sealed. Then the work is started in collusion.

Syed Mohammad Waqas Shah, Councilor of Barkat Market area, had submitted the petitions to the higher authorities four years ago.
The question is why the administration did not take action when the requests were made. Is the administration waiting for them to take action after an incident?
One person was injured in the Barkat Market blast but we have not been able to put out the fire yet. After the blast, DC Lahore visited the spot and inspected the situation. Police have cordoned off the area. Fire has also spread and damaged several vehicles.
