LAHORE – October 9, 2025: Lahore was swept by unrest late Tuesday night in the Nagra Town / Dhulay Wala area near the Khadim Rizvi / Rehmatul Lil Alameen Mosque on Multan Road. The flare-up is tied to Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) activities, according to local reports and security sources.
Witnesses say tensions escalated when law enforcement moved on the TLP headquarters, triggering clashes between police and party workers. The TLP claims one worker was martyred in the confrontation, and over 50 others wounded during the operation. Police used tear gas and took positions in surrounding areas, blocking key routes and disrupting traffic near Yateem Khana Chowk, Scheme Mor, and adjacent localities.

Reports also indicate heavy shelling through the night, with local security agencies fortifying positions and sealing off strategic roads. The area remains tense as residents brace for continued unrest.
In response, the Lahore security leadership issued an advisory to staff and the public: avoid Multan Road and its environs, steer clear of Yateem Khana Chowk and Scheme Mor, anticipate road closures, and limit nonessential movement until further notice.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi / Islamabad, authorities have preemptively placed containers and barriers at Faizabad and Red Zone entry points. Though there are no confirmed disruptions yet, restrictions may be imposed at short notice. Residents and commuters have been asked to remain alert and follow directions from security personnel.
As daylight broke, the city was still under heavy guard, with security forces maintaining a strong presence in the affected corridors. The TLP unrest in Lahore echoes past nationwide protests led by the group, which have previously involved large sit-ins, road blockades, and confrontations with law enforcement.
Officials have not yet issued a consolidated casualty verification. The situation remains volatile, and further updates are awaited.
