Lahore Police launches patrolling plan to make Azad Kashmir elections peaceful

Lahore: Police Operations Wing has released an effective patrolling plan to make Azad Kashmir elections peaceful.
DIG Operations Lahore Sajid Kayani has said that according to the patrolling plan, the teams of Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit will take control of the main highways of the city at 5 am on the polling day.
In Lahore, 25 polling stations have been set up on the eve of the elections, which have been divided into categories A, B and C on the basis of sensitivity. Category A has 03 polling stations, Category B has 19 polling stations and Category C has 03 polling stations.
At least 14 polling stations have been set up in City Division, 05 in Civil Lines, 02 in Kent Division, 01 in Iqbal Town Division, 01 in Saddar and 02 in Model Town Division. DIG Sajid Kayani said that SP Dolphin Squad Rashid Hidayat would be responsible for implementation as per the patrolling plan.
Teams from the Dolphin Squad and the Police Response Unit will take control of the city’s main highways at 5:00 am.
In addition, elite forces and special squad teams will also ensure patrolling around polling stations. Anti-rights forces and special squads will also be on high alert to deal with any kind of emergency.
Sajid Kayani said that a total of 06 SPs, 18 DSPs, 25 SHOs would be deployed.
He said that along with 700 police personnel, 100 lady personnel would also be on duty at the polling booths.
On polling day, police officers and youth would be in constant touch with the Safe City Authority control room, he concluded.
