Security forces arrested 5 terrorists from Shahdara area of ​​Lahore who were brought via Indian assistance. Large quantities of explosives, arms, ammunition and Indian currency were recovered from the accused.

According to the reports, all the accused are from Afghanistan. Pictures of targeted buildings have been recovered from the suspects’ mobile phones. The suspects were to target the Civil Secretariat and other sensitive locations. The terrorists have been identified as Samarqand, Abdul Rehman, Wazir Gul, Ismatullah and Imran.

The suspects have been shifted to an unknown location for further investigation.

Earlier, in November, a terrorist had attempted to attack a police station in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab. According to CTD, a suicide attack attempt on CTD police station Burki Road in Lahore was foiled and the terrorist was killed in retaliation.

According to the CTD, the terrorist opened fire when asked for identification, in retaliation the attacker was killed. Suicide jacket, two hand grenades were recovered from terrorist.

According to the CTD, the terrorist could not be identified, the identification process is underway. CTD launched a search operation in the area. A bomb disposal squad was also called, which defused the suicide jacket.
