Islamabad (30th July, 2019): Dr. Zia ul Qayyum, Vice Chancellor (VC) of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), reportedly distributed laptops among students from Baluchistan, motivating them to pursue their higher education through digital means of learning.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the AIOU Vice Chancellor distributed laptops among the students from Balochistan enabling them the opportunity to better pursue higher education through digital modes of learning.
Nearly fifty or more students belonging to Balochistan were provided the laptops at an official ceremony held in Quetta, according to reports. Reportedly, the VC assured the students that AIOU will work to provide more laptops to other deserving students with support from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Moreover, according to Inamullah Sheikh who is serving as the Director Regional Services, the laptop distribution ceremony was carried out as per the merit-criteria that was laid down by the HEC. Thereby, a ‘transparent mechanism’ was implemented for the laptop distribution scheme in Quetta.
