Lahore, 14th April: Lahore City Traffic Police has updated the citizens about the road closure situation in the city.

According to Baaghi TV’s report, City Traffic Police on Wednesday updated the citizens on their social media account on Twitter about the road closures.

Baaghi TV had reported earlier that after the protests carried out by the religiopolitical party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) across the country, major routes and highways got blocked on Tuesday.

The TLP workers took to the streets after their chief Hafiz Saad Rizvi was detained by the Lahore police on Monday, April 12. The protestors on Monday night disrupted the traffic flow and damaged the public property.

However, since yesterday the police is keeping the law and order situation under control with the help of Rangers deployed by the government at 16 sensitive areas of Lahore, which are still closed.

Earlier in the day, Lahore City Traffic Police posted the information about the roads that got opened for the traffic on Wednesday.

It said, “Roads are open for traffic from Thokar Niaz Baig, Shahdara Chowk, Khayaban Chowk, Shahkam Chowk, Mul Pulli, Barki R/O, Aryan Pind.”

Later, it shared further details regarding the closed routes in the city.

Mentioning the areas where the protests are still going on, Traffic Police stated, “Protests continue in various parts of the city. Citizens are requested to avoid unnecessary travel to the relevant points !!”
