Law Ministry releases two-year performance report
ISLAMABAD: The two-year performance report of the Ministry of Law has come to light. Judges have been appointed in administrative tribunals and special courts during the last two years while new special courts are also being set up.
According to details, the law ministry’s two-year performance report came to light in which 27 Acts of Parliament and 39 Ordinances were introduced.
According to the report, software called ‘e-Office’ is ready but there are no funds available for it and no computer for use. Judges were appointed in administrative tribunals and special courts during the last 2 years.
New special courts are being set up across the country, the report said. Legal opinions on 600 different issues were provided to various ministries and departments, while 641 international agreements and memorandums were reviewed.
In 2 years, 4,699 applications were processed for reviewing the rules of various institutions.
According to the report, work is underway to expand the Supreme Court Karachi registry. Around 345 private members’ bills were received from the parliament for review while 9,450 cases related to the federal government are pending in various courts.
