LDA seals UMT building over illegal constructions

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sealed the building of a private university in Lahore.

According to the details, the LDA’s town planning department carried out an operation in Johar Town, Lahore during which they sealed the building of University of Management and Technology (UMT).

According to LDA officials, the university building has been sealed due to illegal construction without a plan. Moreover, the LDA officials said that around 18 kanals of state land has been added into the university premises.

UMT is a private university located in Johar Town, Lahore and is a project of Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Trust which was established in 1990. Ibrahim Hasan Murad, son of Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad (late), is the President of UMT and ILM Trust. Dr Hasan Murad, founder and former Rector of UMT and Chairman ILM Trust, passed away in a tragic car accident near Gilgit on September 10, 2018.

The university is accredited by the Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

Earlier, Lahore Development Authority had advised the citizens to check the following documents to avoid any fraud or hassle while buying plots in housing schemes.
