hje legendary singer Nazia Hassan is remembered on her 19th anniversary across the world by music-lovers and the nation is paying tribute to the pop-star who left the world on August 13.

According to reports of Baaghitv, legendary singer and queen of pop-music, Nazia Hassan, is remembered on her 19th anniversary across the country. She was the first female pop-singer in the country and is rightly called as ‘Queen of Pop’.

She started her career at the age of 10 as a child-star and she became conspicuous by the PTV show  Sung Sung. Her debut-ant song was Aap Jaisa Koi which she sang for the Bollywood movie Qurbani released in 1980. Her first album, Disco-Dewane (1981) was also a hit, which was released in more than 14 countries and became the best selling Asian pop record at that time.

She became the first Pakistani singer by singing song Dreamer Dewane  to have released a song which made into the British musical charts.

She received numerous awards during her career, including both national and international awards. Among which , the Filmfare award was the biggest one, which she received at the age of 15 for singing a song for Bollywood movie. This record still remains the Nazia Hassan, who was the youngest to achieve this honor.

She died on August 13, 2000 after a prolonged fighting with lungs cancer at the age of 35.
