Lahore, 16th March: Fewer people are familiar with the fact that the Punjab Government is conducting free COVID-19 tests.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Punjab Government is providing the facility of getting free testing for the novel coronavirus in the province.
Baaghi TV conducted the research and found out that the health ministry of Punjab is providing the facility of coronavirus testing free of cost in its capital city Lahore.
Moreover, the provincial government is facilitating its citizens with free testing at their doorstep.
As per our reports, the main centre for the testing is situated in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore, where the health staff is available to provide COVID testing on just a phone call.
The facility is readily available for the residents of DHA as yet, however, they are working to provide free of cost testing in other areas of the city as well.
Baaghi TV’s correspondent reached out to a representative from Punjab Health Department, who also revealed that the home-based testing is valid for a few outbound airlines including PIA and British Airways so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that the tests for COVID-19 are being conducted privately all over the country at a very high price of Rs 6500 per test.
It is also to be brought under consideration that for the working class of our country, this huge amount is not possible to pay every time a person has to go for the test which is mandatory in specific situations!
