LGS teachers exposed for sexually harassing female students

Lahore, 29th June: A heartbreaking incident was reported yesterday in one of the elite schools of Lahore, Pakistan.

This incident not only raises questions on the ethical behavior of teachers but also the lack of handling the issue properly by the school administration.

According to a report by Baaghi TV, a few students of the Lahore Grammar School have taken a brave step and come forward with the allegations of sexual harassment by some of their male teachers.

It has indeed come as a shock that such horrible accusations were highlighted from a high profile school in Lahore.

A wave of sexual harassment reports have surfaced against members of faculty of LGS 1-A/1, reportedly four male teachers, and numerous members of the custodial staff.

Numerous girls have been brave enough to step out and recall their sexual harassment stories and have shared them in hopes to receive justice which the administration of the school has failed to provide them.

The accused have been proven by reports of many students not only using inappropriate language, but also invading girls’ privacy by touching them inappropriately, and sending unsolicited pictures.

The teachers namely Mr. Zahid Warraich, Mr. Shehzad Imdad, Mr. Umer Shareef, and Mr. Aitezaz Rehman Sheikh, who is a prominent member of MUN in Pakistan have been involved in frequent intimidating acts with their students inside the school premises.

It is reported by the students that these teachers used to touch them improperly and this has been going on for quite a while. Instead of handling and restricting the issue, the school administration ignored the complaints made by the girls, rather rebuffed their protests and let go of the matter.

We think it is imperative for the administration to take action against these predators and we do not want the bravery of all these young girls who have had to suffer at the hands of these deplorable men to go to waste.

Reportedly the school has terminated the three teachers involved, but the question arises does terminating them resolve the issue or stop them from continuing this act?

Baaghi TV urges that its high time for LGS 1A1 management to intervene and take some serious action in this regard.
