LHC announces its decision against Shehbaz Sharif’s bail plea

Lahore, 14th April: The Lahore High Court (LHC) grants bail to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Baaghi TV’s report, LHC granted bail to the leader of the opposition Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday in assets beyond sources of income case.

A two-member bench including Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar granted bail to Shehbaz Sharif against the submission of two surety bonds of Rs 5 million each.

When Shehbaz Sharif’s bail application was heard, the NAB prosecutor presented arguments today after which the court reserved its verdict.

Maryam Aurangzeb, spokesperson of PML-N and Ataullah Tarar, Deputy Secretary-General of PML-N were present in the Lahore High Court today on the bail application of PML-N President Mian Shehbaz Sharif.

It is to be noted that earlier Shehbaz Sharif had filed a bail application in the Lahore High Court.

The petition states that the reference of money laundering has been filed and the trial is going on. No transaction was made in the name of Shehbaz Sharif.

The PML-N leader said that he has been in jail for several months and that all the records are with NAB. Now the court should order his release on bail.

Shehbaz Sharif had directed his legal team to prepare a draft for his bail.

It should be noted that Shehbaz Sharif was taken into custody by the NAB after his bail application was rejected. The court had sent him on judicial remand.
