Lahore: Baaghi TV has received a list of 17 pilots associated with the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) who are having fake licenses.
According to the reports, Baaghi TV has received a list of 17 PIA pilots having fake licenses which was reported to the Civil Aviation Authority in 2019 by the national carrier management.
In early 2019, the national carrier discovered suspicious licenses and informed the civil aviation regarding it, after which the Ministry of Aviation launched an inquiry. In the inquiry, PIA identified 17 pilots having dubious licenses and all of them were grounded and reported to the CAA.
However, there has been no verdict given by the PIA civil aviation or the aviation ministry regarding the matter. It is important to mention here that the management should decide whether the licenses of these pilots are fake or not.
If the pilots possess fake licenses, they should be immediately fired from their jobs, however, if not then they should be given charge of their duties with the national carrier.
All 17 pilots have been on the ground for a year and a half, but their investigations have not yet been received by the PIA, according to the PIA spokesman. Neither PIA nor other airlines could revoke the license of the authorized body, he further said.
Suspicious license has become a big problem not only for PIA but for all airlines as it is becoming a cause of degradation of the country.
