Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali visited earthquake hit areas of Balochistan

Commander Balochistan Corps, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Sarfraz Ali, visited earthquake hit areas of Balochistan to oversee troops taking part in rescue and relief operations in affected areas of Harnai.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan army urban search and rescue team busy in speedy rescue and relief efforts at Harnai. Necessary medical care being provided by Army and Frontier Corps doctors & paramedics.

All critical injured including evacuated to Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) Quetta through Pakistan army aviation helicopters. However, a large number of injured were also evacuated by road.

Furthermore, the military media wing said that 300 special food and administrative package including tents/blankets and meals provided to affected population.

It is to be noted that at least 20 people have been killed and more than 300 injured due to last night’s severe earthquake in different parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Sibi and Harnai. More than 70 houses have also been damaged in Harnai and Shahrag. The epicenter was reported at 5.9 magnitude, with a depth of 15 km.
