LUMS University denies the rumours of coronavirus

LAHORE, 12th March: According to the reports, there were some suspected cases of coronavirus in the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), but it was hoax news and today the university’s vice-chancellor Arshad Mehmood has denied the news. 

According to the details, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) dismissed the rumours saying that there is no case of coronavirus being reported in the university. A spokesman for the University of LUMS said that the students should not listen to the rumours about the virus.

The statement by the Vice-Chancellor LUMS said that the news about the coronavirus case was not true. Such rumors should not be believed or spread.

Coronavirus: Avoid social gatherings for the next few days

On the other hand, Associate Professor Nida Kurmani in her tweet said that there were rumours circulating about the coronavirus in LUMS which have no truth in them. Care must be taken in this regard on social media and such news should be verified before sharing.

A medical emergency has been implemented in Punjab province due to the dangers of the coronavirus. Provincial Health Minister Yasmin Rashid has urged citizens to take the matter seriously and to take protective measures such as regular hand washing and face touching. Social gatherings should be avoided according to the Punjab Health Minister.
