Madan Mohan’s journey in Bollywood spanned three decades in which he composed many melodious melodies, but in the form of songs that became immortal with his music, he still holds a high position in the film industry and reigns over hearts. Madan Mohan passed away on this very day in 1975.

Madan Mohan’s hometown was Iraq, where he opened his eyes on June 25, 1924 and later moved to his hometown of Chakwal. After staying here for some time, he moved to Mumbai and got commission in the British Army, but soon quit his job and became associated with All India Radio. He did not work here for a long time and joined the Bollywood film industry. In Bollywood, he achieved his first notable achievement in 1950 and attracted the attention of filmmakers by composing music for the film “Eyes”.

At that time, the subcontinent was a city of singers like Lata and Mohammad Rafi and the song of the said film “Hum Ishq Mein Barbad Rahein Ge” became very popular in the voice of Mohammad Rafi. Her next film was “Ada” in which Lata Mangeshkar recorded songs to Madan Mohan’s music.

Madan Mohan composed many memorable melodies of his career as a film composer and most of them proved to be timeless. Even today, the songs they compose fascinate listeners. Madan Mohan has been nominated for four Filmfare Awards, and was later awarded the IFA Award.
