Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi, met the president of United Nations General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa.

During the meeting, Maleeha Lodhi briefed Maria Espinosa about India’s ongoing atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

“Met Maria Fernanda Espinosa, President of UN General Assembly & briefed her in detail about the grave situation in occupied Kashmir where the continuing curfew & lock down is exacerbating the suffering of the Kashmiri people. UN should live up to its obligations on IOK,” Lodhi wrote on Twitter.

Lodhi briefed the UNGA president about the human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), where the curfew and communications blackout entered its 23rd day on Tuesday.

Maleeha Lodhi called on the international community to play a role in giving the Kashmiri people their legitimate rights.
