Indian Muslim arrested for making anti-government comments on social media.
According to Baaghi TV’s report, man who made comments against the Prime Minister of India on Facebook has been arrested.
The incident which took place in India where a citizen in Kotwali, a town in Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, had made comments against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the social media website Facebook, on which the police had registered a case against him.
Police say a Muslim youth named Shadab commented against Modi with his ID. The Muslim youth had criticized Modi over the government’s actions regarding the spread of the coronavirus in India, for which a case has been registered against him under the Cyber Act.
According to the police, sections 66, 504 and 505 have been filed in the case against Shadab Khan. Referring to the IT Act, the police have arrested Shadab Khan after registering a case against him.
It is clear that this is not the first time that cases have been registered against critics of Modi. In 2016, well-known comedian Kapil Sharma criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a case was registered against him as well.
