Marriage halls to open after Eid

Lahore, 22nd July 2020: Marriage halls in Pakistan are likely to open after Eid-ul-Adha.

According to reports, Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Raja Basharat has said on Tuesday that the marriage halls may reopen under SOPs after Eid ul Azha.

An MPA of PML-N Muneeb-ul-Haq highlighted the deteriorating condition of the marriage hall owners as their business is closed due to COVID-19 for the last four months. “The miseries of the people are increasing day by day and it becomes difficult for them to survive, it is requested to the government to give an exact date of reopening the marriage halls,” PML-N MPA said.

Tens of thousands of people are associated with this business and they are facing loss. The government must resolve this issue and look into the matter.

Raja Basharat said that Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal is in contact with the representatives of the marriage hall association and the government is planning to open the marriage halls under SOPs after Eid.
