Maulana Tariq Jameel once again a target of criticism
Lahore, 3rd May: Hamid Mir has once again attacked Maulana Tariq Jameel’s stature by saying that Maulana is damaging his own reputation.
In an interview, Hamid Mir, a renowned anchor from Geo TV, justified his act on criticizing Maulana Tariq Jameel and later on the apology Maulana asked from the media persons.
Talking about the apology of Maulana Tariq Jameel, he said that the purpose of the program in which all of the journalists and Maulana Tariq Jameel were present was only to raise funds for the corona victims. It was decided that there would be no discussion on political issues. According to Hamid Mir, the stance by Maulana to talk on a political issue at such an occasion was not appropriate.

“We were told the program would continue for two hours,” said Hamid Mir, and when Maulana was asked to pray he started the speech. According to Hamid Mir, he got offended when Maulana said that a media owner had told that if we don’t spread lies, the channel would be shut down. This statement made all channel owners suspicious. So it became necessary to get an explanation from Maulana and thus his apology.
It should be noted that the leading anchor Mubasher Lucman has released a comprehensive program on this issue on his YouTube Channel, in which he praised Maulana Tariq Jameel and exposed the role of media. He said that Maulana Tariq Jameel is a non-political figure and not a member of any political party. He says that Maulana is a thorough gentleman and is accustomed to speaking the truth.
