Lahore, 22nd December: Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi gives an explanation of why she has not appeared in court in the defamation case.
Baaghi TV: Meesha Shafi, who is a part of two music platforms this year, Coke Studio and Velo Sound Station, has created a lot of buzz these days due to her controversy regarding the defamation against singer Ali Zafar.
Shafi is being harshly criticised for not appearing to her court hearings; on the other hand, she can be seen in her music videos for both the music shows.
People on social media have asked her if she could turn up for her recording then why couldn’t she attend her court hearings.
Meesha Shafi can feature in Coke Studio but can't appear in Court of Law for that case?
Just asking? JUST.

It may be recalled that Meesha Shafi had accused singer, Ali Zafar of sexual harassment, in April 2018.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, Ali Zafar had rejected Meesha Shafi’s allegations and later filed a suit in the Lahore Sessions Court seeking Rs 1 billion in damages for making false allegations.
However, Meesha Shafi was repeatedly summoned by the court in the case but she did not appear.
A user on the Twitter thread said that we need to boycott such attention-seekers.
Meanwhile, Wardah, a lawyer and women’s rights activist, responded on Twitter, “I remember when we and the women marchers went to the Sessions Court to hear Meesha Shafi’s case, we saw the force in her eyes.
Remembering this one time when I & @march_aurat went to session court for the hearing of @itsmeeshashafi 's case !! The strength I saw in the eyes of this woman that day was enormous. Only a few can stand against their harassers with such force. Thank u 4 taking a stand queen!

She added that only a few people could stand up to the harassers with such force.
Replying to Wardah’s tweet, Meesha Shafi wrote on her Twitter handle, which is restricted for public viewing, “when I went to court, before going again and then again”.
Sharing a photo in her tweet of disposable utensils lying, Shafi also wrote, ” Here’s a picture I took while being stared at on one of the mornings I went to Lahore court.”
The picture she shared was outside Lahore’s Sessions Court.
The singer definitely needs to think of some other excuses for not attending court hearing!
