Lahore, 13th December: With a power-packed performance in ‘Boom Boom’, singer Meesha Shafi rocks the music world.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Pakistan’s famous and talented singer Meesha Shafi has once again proven her mettle by reinventing an old song.

Meesha Shafi is a Pakistani actress and model who made her debut with a supporting role in 2013 in Mira Nair’s film ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’.

She further achieved critical success for her role as ‘Laxmi’, an Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing’s operative, in Bilal Lashari’s action thriller movie ‘Waar’, which ranks among the highest-grossing films of all time in Pakistan.

A week back, the 39-year-old singer sang a remixed version of the song ‘Boom Boom’ sung by the late Pakistani pop singer Nazia Hasan for a new singing platform, the ‘Velo Sound Station’.

Listen to the song here:

Velo Sound Station production is purely a visual treat and rich in sound effects, using 90s music video animations in the background, with a part of the lyrics featured in a creative karaoke-style.

Meesha Shafi successfully puts energy and vigour in the song, where she takes the listener to the feeling of nostalgia being transported to the past and then the present. It almost feels like she’s channelling the spirit of the late Nazia Hasan right there.

Shafi gives goosebumps with her robust performance, and with the additional lyrics and treatment of the song, she completely makes it her own.

Meanwhile, Meesha Shafi has also given vocals for two melodious songs from the Coke Studio 2020. But her song ‘Boom Boom’ stands out and has caused quite a stir among fans. The song has so far garnered 7.7 million views on YouTube.
