Members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) contingent have tested positive for the dreaded

coronavirus. This will come as a huge blow to CSK who were supposed to start training in Dubai from Friday.

Sources confirmed the news to TOI even though the names of the player, support staff and officials are not yet disclosed officially. As per sources, the list included India pacer Deepak

Chahar. It was learnt that the members had tested positive after they landed in Dubai. As a result, CSK now have to extend their quarantine period for another week. The Super Kings reached Dubai on August 21 and was already undergoing the mandatory six-day quarantine period put in place by the IPL. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on September 19.

It was also reliably learnt that the entire CSK squad, including support staff and officials, had to undergo their fourth Covid-19 test on Friday. The BCCI had mandated three coronavirus tests for the teams upon reaching the UAE before they could start practising. The result of the fourth Covid-19 test of CSK players will only be known on Saturday.
