The origin of the word Ramzan comes from the classical Arabic root, ramida, ar-ramad or ramdaa, meaning scorching heat or dryness — believed to be either in reference to the heat of thirst and hunger or because fasting burns away one’s past sins. The first Ramzan is thought to have occurred during the middle of summer. In other words, Ramzan is a month meant to purify the body of toxins.

It is the month of piety, compassion, goodness and perseverance in Allah’s passion and solidarity, unselfishness with Allah and the messenger. So in order to receive it, we must prepare ourselves for the qualities that attract us to Ramadan. We know that the Quran was revealed in Ramadan as Allah says

[bs-quote quote=”The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran; a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, a number of other days. Allah desires for you ease; He desires not hardship for you; and that you should complete the period, and that you should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that perhaps you may be thankful.” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″ author_name=”Quran ” author_job=”2:185″][/bs-quote]

The month of Ramzan is further divided into three parts, consisting of 10 days each. Each 10-day period is referred to as an Ashra, which is the Arabic word for ten. These three parts are the Rahmah (god’s mercy), Maghfirah (Allah’s forgiveness), and Najah (salvation).

The first 10 days of the month of Ramzan are dedicated to mercy from Allah. The next 10 days focus on forgiveness from Allah and the last 10 on freedom from Hell Fire. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said,

[bs-quote quote=”When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.” style=”style-17″ align=”center” color=”#dd0000″ author_name=”Imam Bukhari”][/bs-quote]

Ramadan: Three important events

These are the three events of Ramadan that have changed the world radically. It is true that the success of the Ummah can be as a result of developing strategies, built on the background of events in different periods but, these first three events are the minarets in light of which the task can be so that the entire Ummah as a Muslim can be successfully joined.

So these events guide us best in the process of achieving success.

The Holy Quran was revealed in Ramadan:

The fact is that the Qur’an has revived the human life and saved the world from the roots of darkness, error and polytheism.

Therefore, it is our responsibility to try to make the Qur’an as even as possible.

Apply this to matters that arise in the late hours of your practical life. Adapt your and your family’s lives accordingly. His message refreshes the thirsty souls. Give it a reason to establish it and give it the importance it deserves.

Ghazwa-e-Badr:

Allah says in the Quran: Al Imran 3:123–125. “Allah had helped you at Badr, when ye were a contemptible little force; then fear Allah; thus May ye show your gratitude. Remember thou saidst to the Faithful: Is it not enough for you that Allah should help you with three thousand angels (Specially) sent down?”

This was meant to open the gap between the right and wrong, where the commonwealth of rights entrusts all its blessings to Allah in this simple cause which He has bestowed.

God has given wisdom and this is the greatest blessing by which the difference between human and animal must be distinguished.

Allah has given the abilities through which good works should be performed. Allah has given the knowledge through which ignorance, misguidance and false doctrine should be rid of and misguided. Allah has given the wealth which should be used in the works of Allah in the service and creation of faith. Allah has given life through which the system of falsehood can be overcome and this is the ultimate end, but before this last extreme, it is imperative that the work be undertaken by each person.

The act of giving life in Allah’s way will be collective and it will be when it is needed, at the moment it does not feel needed in the homeland.

Fateh Makkah / Conquest of Mecca & Victory:

This conquest testifies that even in the leading world of truth, there is a red light and eternal success in the Hereafter.

This event also signifies that the house of God and the place which has been allotted for the worship of Allah should be free from polytheism and idolatry. This land is exclusive to the worship of Allah, so it cannot be bargained for by falsehood. This is the land where those who take the name of Allah submit to Allah, glorify Him and glorify Him, associate with Him their expectations, ask forgiveness for their sins, and cultivate a collective spirit in Islamic thought.

This event also indicates that if Muslims are successful at any stage in the world, they will become more praiseworthy of Allah. His neck is not stricken with pride and arrogance, but he becomes more inclined towards Allah. The advantage would be that they would evoke more feelings of well-being than humans, which is desperately needed today. These three events also draw attention to the reception of the Qur’an, its use and its aftermath.

During the day, we must make changes in our appearance, which in turn lead to the love of Allah and His servants.
