Messi Wins FIFA Award for Best Player of the Year
Argentine football player Lionel Messi has won best FIFA player of the year award for record 6th time.
According to details, Lionel Messi beat Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo to win the best FIFA player of the year award. Messi, won the Spanish La Liga title with Barcelona last season as well as the European golden boot. He scored 54 goals in 58 games in these competitions. “It is great to have this award, because it has been a long time without winning an award” he said while talking on this happy occasion.
Reportedly, co-captain of US Megan Rapinoe has won the women’s top award. She helped her country to win the World Cup title this year in a tournament.
