The Meteorological Department has predicted a severe heat wave during Eid, saying that temperatures are likely to go up by 7 degrees above normal in central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan between June 7 to June 12.
A heatwave alert has been issued in Punjab. The Relief Commissioner has directed the district administration and relevant departments to remain alert in view of the possible heatwave. According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures are also likely to rise by 4 to 6 degrees in Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan.
