Mir Shakeel ur Rehman’s bail plea to be heard soon
Wednesday, Junwe 17th: Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman’s bail plea heard in Lahore High Court. The court adjourned the hearing till June 22nd. Justice Alia Neelam said that we have received the file today.
Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman’s lawyer told the court that Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman is on judicial remand, his elder brother died in custody, Mir Shakeel’s 94-year-old mother is seriously ill, the court should hear the case soon.
The court adjourned the case till June 22nd. It should be noted that on June 15, the judicial remand of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, the owner of Jang, Geo, was extended till June 29.
Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman’s case was heard in the accountability court, the administrative judge of the accountability court Jawad Al-Hassan heard the case. Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The court summoned the report of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman’s reference from NAB officials. NAB prosecutor Asim Mumtaz appeared in the court on behalf of NAB. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till June 29.
It is to be noted that Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman has also filed a petition in the Lahore High Court for bail. At the last hearing, the NAB had opposed the release of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman.
The owner of Geo Jang and Nawaz Sharif’s special Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman has finally been caught by the law. NAB had arrested Mir Shakeel. He could not answer the questions raised by the NAB on the arrest of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman. According to reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summoned Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, the owner of Jang Group, in a 54-kanal illegal land case on March 12 and arrested for not answering questions.
Earlier, Mir Shakeel appeared in the case for the first time on March 5. The inside story of the appearance came to light. Mir Shakeel had in the first hearing requested to take three employees and two children with him to the NAB office but the request to bring the employee with him was rejected and the children were allowed to enter the NAB office.
An identity card was taken from Mir Shakeel at the reception and the entry register was signed after which he was taken to Room No. 2 where Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif have been interrogated before.
