Lahore May 26, 2021: Model and singer Shyraa Roy who hails from Lahore has been elected the first Miss Trans Pakistan in the history of the country.
BaaghiTV: According to details, model and singer Shyraa Roy became Pakistan’s first Miss Trans Beauty Queen. The coronation ceremony was held in Lahore in which famous make-up artist and showbiz stars from Dubai participated while Miss Shyraa Roy was crowned Miss Trans Pakistan.
Roy is a Dubai-based singer, actress, and producer and is best known for playing cameo roles of Sania in Aks, Mohini in Mohenjodaro, and Natasha in Saaho. She has also sung music singles like Raat, Kamli and turned producer/screenwriter for the Amazon Prime show Hello Shabnam. She also displayed her singing talents by featuring in a duet with Mohsin Abbas Haider.
Roy who was born in Sialkot, Punjab in 1995, is a student of Anwar Rafi who ruled the music industry for years and was himself a student of Mohammad Rafi. When Roy revealed to a local publication that she a transgender woman, she was criticized and trolled on social media but she has since broken stereotypes by giving a blockbuster music performance in February this year, called Kamli through ARY Films.
Miss Trans Pakistan Shyraa Roy says that she is very happy to be the first beauty queen of Pakistan. She says her success proves that these transgender people are no less than anyone. Miss Pakistan Areej Chaudhry and renowned make-up artist Abiha Mamun have also termed Shyraa Roy’s becoming a beauty queen as a great achievement.
It is to be noted that the Miss Trans Pakistan competition was held in Canada in the final competition of which Shyraa Roy defeated 10 participants and won the title of Miss Pakistan Beauty Queen.
