ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Javed has said that more than $100 million USD has been deposited in Roshan Digital Accounts by 44,000 Pakistanis abroad so far.
According to the details, Faisal Javed in his statement on social networking website Twitter said that $100 million USD has been deposited in Roshan Digital Accounts, Pakistanis abroad have opened 44,000 accounts.
Faisal Javed said that over $50 million USD has been invested in Naya Pakistan Certificates and there has been a great response to the initiatives of the Ministry of Finance and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Yesterday, SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir said that Pakistanis abroad have deposited Rs. 16 billion in Roshan digital accounts so far. Since the launch, more than $100 million USD has been deposited in Roshan Digital Accounts, so far. Seven hundred Roshan Digital Accounts are being opened, with a daily receipt of two million dollars.

It may be recalled that on November 12, Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued Naya Pakistan Certificates for Pakistanis abroad. Profits will be 7% on dollars and 11% on Pakistani rupees. According to Shariah principles and rules, Islamic certificates will be valid for a period of 3 months to 5 years.
Senator Faisal Javed had said that capital could be withdrawn even before the stipulated period, there would be no Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs) and no tax filing would be required, only 10% holding tax would be levied on net profit.
