During the last 24 hours most deaths due to COVID-19 occurred in Pakistan’s province, Punjab.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, most deaths reported in Punjab followed by Sindh. Out of 40 deaths during last 24 hours 16 died on ventilators, 33 died in hospital and 7 died out of hospital on 8 Jan. Meanwhile, 2,007 people tested covid positive on 8 Jan.

Total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan at 33,474 as of 9 Jan. 40,898 tests conducted on 8 Jan. Provincial statistics show:
- Sindh: 12,904
- Punjab: 15,438
- KP: 6,246
- ICT: 4,980
- Balochistan: 613
- GB: 374
- AJK: 343
According to reports, 455,445 People recovered so far across Pakistan making it a significant count. There is no patient on vent in GB & Balochistan while, 305 vents occupied across Pakistan.

A total of 499,517 cases detected so far with AJK 8,451, Balochistan 18,351, GB 4,879, ICT 38,970, KP 60,751, Punjab 144,111 and Sindh 224,004. The death toll is reported at 10,598 deaths.

- Punjab: 4,242 (18 died in hospital and 3 died out of hospital on 8 Jan)

- Balochistan: 187 (1 died in hospital on 8 Jan)
- GB: 101 (-)
- AJK: 235 (1 died in hospital on 8 Jan)
