MPA hails PM Imran Khan for signing MoU on Kartarpur Corridor
ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP):Member Punjab Assembly Sardar Mahinder Pal Singh Friday hailed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government for taking concrete measures to safeguard the rights and lives of minorities such as Sikhs, Hindus,Christians as compared to India where they are living under the fear and threats.
Talking to PTV news channel, he said the opening of Kartarpur Corridor for Sikhs by Pakistan is a gift for Sikh community thus hailed signing of government’s Kartarpur Corridor Memorundum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony in this regard.
The opening of Kartarpur corridor gesture is considered as government’s positive step towards minorities, adding, India must look its own nefarious face before pointing fingers towards Pakistan.
MPA said minorities-friendly policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government are appreciable all over the world.
Whereas the minorities in India were not safe and recently Indian troops are committing ethnic cleansing and worst human rights violations in Kashmir, he said.
I am being MPA from minority community represent the Sikhs living in Pakistan is highly thankful to Prime Minister Imran Khan for addressing an important issue of Kartarpur corridor.
He said Sikh community in Pakistan is free to perform their religious obligations and to protect their worship places.
He said the previous governments were unable to address this issue but i will appreciate the incumbent government for standing with the minorities and speaking up for their rights.
“We are given respect and provided better security in Pakistan, he lauded, adding, Pakistan is a peace-loving country where all religions enjoy freedom.
Completion of Kartapur corridor is such a big dream of Sikhs across the globe which will come true under the vision of PM Imran Khan, he added.
Moreover, Pakistan has always respected international laws and valued human rights, he mentioned.
Its unfortunate, Pakistan’s peace gestures were being reciprocated by Indian side with extremism and hatred, he said, adding, minorities under Modi regime are not safe and Muslims are being targeted on religious basis.
