Lahore, 26th May: Today Mubasher Lucman invited Raja Uzair, a teacher and an advocate Mr. Muneed Qadir at his program on his YouTube channel. It was highlighted that the education and health sectors are the two uncontrollable and heartless sectors who are running a racket and mafia.

Lucman mentioned that all over the world consideration is taken to give relief to the public and to stand with the nation to support the affected and need in this pandemic, but here in Pakistan the Mafia is taking advantage and asking for full fees whether or not the salaries of teachers and employees are being dispersed.

Lucman points out that the students are the ones who’s future is at stake and parents are the ones who are pushed to make the extra expense to ensure the registration and degree allotment of their child.

Cambridge system of education is vastly followed in Pakistan and many schools under the supervision of the British council offer it.

Mr. Raja Uzair the teacher elaborated on the problem faced by students of O Levels and A levels. He mentioned that in three months Cambridge is not clear how to gauge and mark the students and the policy is still not clear. Especially the students appearing privately face the dilemma of marking and awarding of grades in a similar fashion as the regular candidate.

Bad news for the trade mafia: Mubasher Lucman

The regular students will be awarded grades on the recommendation of teachers of the respective institutes whereas the same teachers can not submit the reports for the private students who were under their private coaching.

Rather there future is undecided and they might have to appear in the October/ November exams. This will result in an additional cost for parents and waste of precious time for students as their admissions will be delayed.

The Advocate Muneeb stressed that Pakistan’s government should step in and take a position with Cambridge authorities to safeguard the future of Pakistani students.

The other problem highlighted in the video was that of distant learning. Schools and institutes are pressuring students by offering the same old curriculum with untrained teachers.

The specialized modules have not been purchased and no proper training has been given to the teachers to qualify and impart due knowledge. The assessment process is very dicy and the candidate is at risk of losing grades if they go offline during the course of the exam, keeping in mind the connection and internet speed and reliability especially in rural areas this is a harsh move.

Mubasher Lucman offered to have more in-depth programs and if both of the participants could come up with a detailed case and more applicants then he would like to bring the matter to the attention of the Pakistan government specially Shafqat Mehmud and then to the representatives of Cambridge education system as well.
