Rawalpindi Aug 6, 2021: Police arrested two men for harassing a tourist family and harassing women in the tourist spot of Pindi Point in Murree.

Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younis took notice of the incident in Murree after obtaining close circuit camera (CCTV) footage. He had tasked the SHO of the concerned police station to arrest the accused.

Following the orders, police arrested two suspects, identified as Harris and Timur. Harris is a local transporter working in Murree, while Timur is his partner. Police registered a case with the administration because the family did not report the incident.

Harassment and fighting with tourist families will not be tolerated at any cost, the CPO said. He said that the safety of the people coming to Murree was his priority and he would ensure it. The CPO said police would register a case against such incidents even if the victims did not report them.

Yesterday meanwhile, a tragic accident shook the tourist town of Murree when a girl standing near an exploding coffee machine was killed. The magnitude of the explosion also ended up injuring three more people.

First responders and relevant authorities said that the body of the deceased girl has been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.

Sources said that the three injured in the accident have been shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

It may be recalled that a tourist vehicle had met with an accident in Salgaran area of Murree last month as a result of which two persons were killed and seven others injured.
