A 24-year-old Muslim youth, Muntalib, was brutally beaten to death in Muzaffarnagar district of the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh state of India, sparking outrage and fear in the local community.

The brutal killing is widely seen as a targeted act of violence. Villagers describe Muntalib as a gentle youth, making the incident all the more tragic.

“This was a deliberate attack,” said a neighbour who requested anonymity. “It is heartbreaking that such incidents continue to endanger Muslim families in our area.”

The incident has heightened fears among local Muslim communities, who say they feel increasingly vulnerable. “It’s not just about one man; it’s about the fear that this kind of violence spreads across our entire community,” said a local community leader.

The death of Muntalib highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Muslim residents in areas affected by communal tensions and long-standing local disputes.
