According to Baaghi TV reports, the lives of Indian Muslims have been made miserable, six Muslim youths have reportedly been arrested on suspicion of having links to Al-Qaeda.
The arrest of Muslim youths in Murshidabad by the Indian Investigation Agency (NIA) on charges of links to al-Qaeda has provoked public outrage. Bengal human rights organizations APDR, APCR and Mukti Vahini have released a joint fact-finding report on the arrest of the six people. In which they have said that these arrests seem to be based on political motives.
The head of West Bengal APDR, Sajdata Bhadra, said that the Central Investigation Agency had arrested six Muslim youths from Murshidabad district. This raises many questions. Arrested persons are not even allowed to visit their families, which is a violation of human rights.
He further said that when the judge of the NIA court asked the arrested persons, have you met your family members? To which they responded that they have not been allowed. The judge then spoke to their families.
Several Muslim organizations have decided to go to court against the arrest. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State and President of the Bengal Jamiat Ulema, Siddiqullah Chaudhry, in which it was said that the Central Government was misusing the National Investigation Agency. Attempts are being made to spoil the communal atmosphere in Bengal. Several lawyers also attended the meeting and protested the arrest of Muslim youth.
