The arrest of Muslim youths in Murshidabad by the Indian Investigation Agency (NIA) on charges of links to al-Qaeda has provoked public outrage. Bengal human rights organizations APDR, APCR and Mukti Vahini have released a joint fact-finding report on the arrest of the six people. In which they have said that these arrests seem to be based on political motives.

The head of West Bengal APDR, Sajdata Bhadra, said that the Central Investigation Agency had arrested six Muslim youths from Murshidabad district. This raises many questions. Arrested persons are not even allowed to visit their families, which is a violation of human rights.

Several Muslim organizations have decided to go to court against the arrest.
