Islamabad August 12 (Online Int’l): National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar has said that an international standard educational city should be established in a sector of Islamabad. He said this while responding to the statement of Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood at the National Assembly on Wednesday morning.
Earlier responding to a question, Shafqat Mehmood said that the government has no plan to establish a new women‘s university in Islamabad. There are 23 universities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, of which 16 are public and seven private sector universities. The government has no plan to establish a new women university in Islamabad, he added.
Mehmood said Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had already announced transformation of Satellite Town Post-Graduate College into a university. We have established universities but didn’t maintain their quality, adding that higher education should have some standards.
