NAB to expand scope of investigation

LAHORE (14th Nov, 2019): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be expanding the scope of investigation in mega corruption scandals.

It was decided in a meeting of NAB executive board under the chair of NAB chief Javed Iqbal. DG NAB Lahore Shehzad Saleem briefed chairman on mega corruption cases.

NAB said the meeting discussed the cases against Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz and Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The meeting also discussed cases against Sharif brothers in Raiwind road construction.

NAB chief on the occasion said the Bureau had recovered Rs71 billion in last few months.

According to the NAB press release, under the ongoing investigation against Dar, Rs500 million have been recovered from his accounts and transferred to the provincial government.

In Gulberg, Dar’s four-kanal house, worth millions of rupees, has been handed over to the Punjab government.

The Chairman NAB has stated that the house will be sold and the money transferred to the national exchequer, the press release added.

Chairman NAB hailed the performance of Lahore Bureau and said record recovery was made in last 2 years. He said negligence in duty would not be tolerated.
