Lahore, 29th March: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to the National Accountability (NAB) regarding PML-N Khawaja Asif’s bail plea.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, LHC issued a notice to NAB on Monday to submit a reply on a petition put forward by PML-N MNA Khawaja Asif asking for bail.
As per reports, Justice Sarfraz Dogar headed a two-member bench and took up Khawaja Asif’s bail plea.
After an initial hearing, the court asked the NAB to file its response to PML-N MNA’s bail application by next hearing.
The court has adjourned the case till next hearing on April 14.
According to previous reports, Khawaja Asif had filed a petition through his counsel Barrister Haider Rasul Mirza which said that the anti-corruption watchdog had arrested him from Islamabad last year on December 29.
He also stated that despite providing the bureau with all the relevant records regarding his assets, NAB has still detained him’
PML-N’s Khawaja Asif pleaded before the court to release him on bail.
