Starring as Sharpasand’s devoted wife Ruby, the evergreen star Nadia Afghan breakdowns her character for the fans.
In a recent interview, Nadia Afghan opened up about her character on the set of Sharpasand. Discussing in detail, she also shared her working experience with Nauman Ijaz playing her husband in the series. Both Nauman Ijaz and Nadia Afghan share quite a chemistry as an on-screen couple and add from their experience to the plotline.

Nadia Afghan pointed out Ruby’s characteristics saying, “I really like Ruby’s character. Ruby and Farasat are like that, whatever Farasat says, Ruby completely agrees with it because he explains things so well that she wholeheartedly believes him.”
Nadia Afghan also addresses the trust that Ruby carries for Farasat’s capability saying, “She genuinely believes his capabilities — whether it’s about taking care of the family, the neighborhood, or anything else. The way he tells his stories, she trusts every word. It’s all because Farasat is genuinely kind and caring towards his wife, and that’s why she believes in him — she feels he has a pure heart.
She further added, “You know, when someone is good with you, you tend to think they’re good with everyone. One of my friends once complained about her husband, but I didn’t believe her because he was a great friend of mine. She said, ‘He’s good to you, but not to me,’ and that really made me think.”

Here she addresses the fact that human beings are somewhat selfish. They have personal interests and stand to see what they get out of anything. The logic applies to relationships as well. All relationships that stand to benefit qualify as the good ones. However, ones that promise little or nothing qualify as bad relationships.

Moving further, Nadia Afghan talked about co-star Nauman Ijaz and how their character interactions have been. To his credit, she said, “Ruby is a fun character, especially when performing alongside Nauman Ijaz. I’ve worked with him multiple times before, and we are good friends, which makes it easier to collaborate.
Lastly, for her followers and struggling actors, she deciphers the process of adding life to a scene in Pakistani dramas. About making the character as life-like as possible Afghan says, “We (Nadia Afghan and Nauman Ijaz) often sit together to discuss and shape our scenes. We even incorporate real-life instances and small details into our performances. I’ve seen selfish actors who don’t rehearse their scenes, but Nomi Bhai is a joy to work with.”
