NASA’s big decision to test response of human life in space
June 6, 2021: NASA has launched an advanced cargo mission to test the effects of space light on humans in space.
Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, has sent 73,000 microscopic animals and other research materials to the International Space Station for NASA. A state-of-the-art cargo mission carrying more than 7,300 pounds of research materials, logistics and hardware on the SpaceX Falcon Nine rocket was launched into space from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, just minutes after launch on the Mission Falcon Nine booster. The cargo dragon capsule is expected to land at the International Station ISS on Saturday.
Experts say the research will help scientists understand the effects of space light on humans, allow them to study to improve the lives of astronauts while living in space, and discover that how long-term stay in space can affect human health. During a pre-launch press conference, Sarah Walker, SpaceX Director of Dragon Mission Management, said the CRS-22 is the fifth Dragon Capsule to be sent to the International Space Station in the past 12 months.
