National Highways & Motorway Police celebrates Independence Day

Lahore: On the directions of Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police Dr. Syed Kalim Imam and under supervision of Commandant NHMP Training College DIG Mehbood Aslam special arrangements were made at NHMP Training College to commemorate 74th Independence Day of Pakistan along with showing solidarity with people of Kashmir.
The day’s proceedings started with recitation of Holy Quran and prayers for prosperity of Pakistan and independence of Kashmir. DIG Mehboob Aslam laid wreath Martyr monument and prayed for elevation of departed soul in Heaven. National flag was hoisted and NHMP special contingent offered Salami to Pakistani flag. Later, Independence Day cake was cut by Commandant Training College DIG Mehboob Aslam along with Deputy Commandant Timur Khan, officers of NHMP and school children. Slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Kashmir liberation were also enchanted. A speech competition with relevance of Independence Day was also organized. The winner of speech competition was awarded prize by DIG Mehboob Aslam. The event was also attended by large number of school children who were holding national and Kashmiri flag. Motorway Police also distributed gifts with relevance to Independence Day among school children.
Addressing the officers of NHMP DIG Mehboob Aslam said that today is day of making solemn pledge of strengthening Quaid e Azam’s Pakistan. He said that our ancestors have laid many sacrifices for independence and it is now our responsibility to raise this flag upright among comity of nations. DIG Mehboob Aslam further said that Independence Day was being commemorated along with raising voice for freedom of Kashmir. He further added that freedom is everybody’s right and the day is not too far when Kashmiri people will be liberated from tyranny of India. DIG Mehboob Aslam advised the officers to invoke all their energies and capabilities for the progress of beloved country and glory of this department.
