Despite the effects of the coronavirus, Pakistani is celebrating its 75th Independence Day with enthusiasm and fervor, and as such, President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have issued messages to the nation.
In his message on Pakistan’s Independence Day, President Dr. Arif Alvi said, “During its 74-year journey, Pakistan faced many challenges, but with our hard work, sacrifices, and cooperation of the nation, we have faced these them.”
He said that Pakistan is an intelligent and brave nation and our remarkable achievements in various fields set us apart from other nations.
He further said that the world must appreciate the fact that Pakistan has individually fought a long war against terrorism and finally defeated the monster.
Dr. Arif Alvi said that becoming a nuclear power of Pakistan is also a great achievement and our nuclear capabilities have made the country invincible.
He said that it was also noteworthy that Pakistan has been hosting millions of Afghan refugees for decades, adding that Pakistan’s effective measures against coronavirus were also appreciated internationally.
“I pay tribute to the doctors and paramedics, the scholars, the media, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the security forces, and the entire nation for this great victory against coronavirus,” he said.
“The effects of improvement in our economic indicators are beginning to reach the people. It is encouraging that the government has taken steps to empower women and people with disabilities economically through the provision of loans and skills,” the President said.
“We also renew our commitment to continue providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. I also appeal to the international community to compel India to withdraw from occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” he said. “Stop human rights violations against innocent Muslims.”
He further said that on this day we pay full tributes to the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the leaders and workers of Tehreek-e-Pakistan.
In his message to the nation, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that while waving the national flag on Independence Day today, we should reaffirm our firm commitment to uphold the national values of faith, unity, and discipline which were envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that Pakistan has overcome difficult challenges in our historical journey to emerge as a united, peaceful, and determined nation. “And as always, we will overcome these obstacles with our determination and emerge as a stronger nation,” he said.
“Today, Pakistan can stand tall among the nations of the world. Our policies on economic recovery, tackling coronavirus, and environmental protection have been welcomed around the world,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the nation should not forget its Kashmiri brothers and sisters who are struggling for their rights of self-determination in the most unfavorable conditions and live in indescribable oppression under illegal Indian occupation, and Pakistan must fulfill the promises it made to the people of Kashmir. Looking to the international community, he said that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination.
“Pakistan has made great sacrifices and paid a heavy price for the volatile situation on its western borders. We have always insisted that there is no military solution to the Afghan conflict while in Afghanistan,” he said. For lasting peace and stability, Pakistan will continue to support a political solution to the Afghan conflict through dialogue. We want peace at home and abroad to pursue our economic and social agenda, he stated.
He said that in the new Pakistan, our entire focus has shifted from geopolitics to geoeconomics in which Pakistan is focusing on the welfare and prosperity of the people as a top priority.
