NCOC Press Release: National Command and Operations Center considers withdrawing decision to reopen celebrations in cinemas, wedding halls and restaurants Islamabad
March 8, 2021: National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) in view of increase in Corona cases decided to consider celebrations in cinemas, wedding halls and to reopen restaurants were being, with wedding ceremonies and cinemas, and restaurants expected to open from March 15.
The NCOC meeting was held on Monday. It was decided that the lockdown would be reviewed in the second week of April. A meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar and National Coordinator of the National Command and Operations Center Lt. Gen. Hamoodul Zaman Khan was held in the provinces.
The state of the growing Corona cases and related measures including progress on vaccination, and national vaccine strategy were discussed in which provincial representatives participated via video link.
The NCOC reviewed the growing number of positive cases of corona across the country. The forum directed the provincial administration to ensure strict implementation of safety measures at the grassroots level.
