NCOC develops strategy for COVID-19 vaccine delivery

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operational Center (NCOC) has approved the strategy for the nationwide delivery of the expected coronavirus vaccine which will be called Vaccine Administration Plan.

According to details, the NCOC approved the Vaccine Administration Plan. The letter said that the expected coronavirus vaccine storage and nationwide delivery would be handed over to Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI).

According to the letter, staff will provide EPIs for the expected coronavirus vaccines across the country. The EPI will provide logistics for vaccine delivery, with special security arrangements for vaccine delivery.

It was also stated that security SOPs would be formulated for the Coronavirus Vaccine Campaign. The EPI will notify agencies before delivery of the vaccine and will provide a special team for the coronavirus vaccine transportation.

The letter said that National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) will provide EPI with a coronavirus vaccine management system, which would consist of transportation, vaccination and records.

The letter further said that the record of Coronavirus Vaccine Campaign will be stored in NADRA Central Database and NADRA will develop a mobile application to keep track of the vaccine campaign.
