NCOC puts restrictions on indoor dining and other activities

Lahore, 24th November: Amid the second wave of the coronavirus in Pakistan, the National Command And Operations Center (NCOC) has taken some more important decisions today.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, following the rise in the coronavirus cases in the country NCOC takes the following decision:

– Educational School’s closure as recommended by IPEMC meeting at NCOC
– No Indoor dining in restaurants
– Enforcement of ban on public gatherings
– Strict implementation of SOPs
– Engaging Ulema for Mosque SOP

According to these instructions, educational institutes across the country have been closed after observing a rise in the COVID-19 positive cases among students.

The government bans indoor dining to contain the spread of the virus. Also, the closure time for shops and markets have been reduced from 10 pm to 6 pm.

The NCOC has ordered to strictly ban the public gatherings including religious gathering also. Wedding ceremonies can only take place in open spaces with no more than 200 people. Orders have been issued to end the wedding ceremonies in two hours.

Ulemas of the mosques are urged to make people follow the required SOPs while offering congregational prayers.

NCOC has also recommended allowing 50% of the staff in the government and private offices to work

Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for planning said the government’s decision to close schools was not an easy one. The schools are likely to reopen on January 11, 2021, depending on the situation. 

He said that the intensity of the second wave is also high in other countries but the attitudes of the people show that they are aware of the severity of the disease. Unfortunately, large gatherings are taking place in the country, which needs to be close down immediately.

Asad Umar said that when we locked down in the beginning, the poor people were affected. The government does not want the needy to suffer more.

The Federal Minister said that a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on coronavirus has been convened tomorrow. Political leaders have been invited to the meeting. Politicians must take the current situation seriously.

According to the Sindh Home Department, all shopping malls will remain completely closed on Fridays and Sundays, while only essentials shops will be open on weekends. The new restrictions by the Home Department will remain in effect until January 31, 2021.

According to the notification, all government and private offices will be required to wear masks in public places. There will also be fines. Strict implementation of SOPs will have to be ensured to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the report of Baaghi TV today, in the last 24 hours, there have been 48 deaths from COVID-19. Meanwhile, 2,954 new cases have been reported.

According to the NCOC, the total number of deaths from corona in Pakistan has risen to 7,744. Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases has reached 379,883.
