A newly discovered satellite, travelling at a speed of 11 km per second, is seen passing 66,000 km from Earth.

Baaghi TV: The 7-meter-long satellite, dubbed ‘2021 NA’, was spotted on July 3 at 7:57 am Saudi time, according to a foreign news agency.

This satellite is the 68th satellite to pass within about 384,401 km from Earth since the beginning of 2021. Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, said that the satellite belongs to the Apollo group.

The satellite is a collection of rocks ranging from 5.3 to 12 meters in diameter, which are on the so-called list of satellites near Earth whose passages intersect earth’s orbit.

The 2021 NA satellite was first spotted from the Pan-STARRS One observatory in Hawaii on July 1 before it came closer to Earth.

Abu Zahra has said that if the satellite was on the path of collision with Earth, it would become a ball of fire as soon as it reached earth’s atmosphere.

According to the engineer, these bodies are like time machines holding lot of secrets. They can provide more information about the origins of our world.

Abu Zahra pointed out that observing the movement of modern satellites is the best opportunity to test the global ability to collectively respond to threats from any future satellites.
